Crystal-Eyez Makeup & Beauty Lounge is a multi-award-winning beauty studio in Chicago’s South Loop, specializing in soft-glam bridal and wedding makeup, hairstyling, and on-location services for special events, including proms, graduations, birthdays, corporate events, and even everyday occasions. With particular expertise in enhancing Black brides and women of color, we create flawless, long-lasting looks for clients of all skin tones, helping every client feel confident and radiant on their special day.
We are home to a team of highly skilled professional makeup artists, hairstylists, and brow, lash, and skincare specialists.
Our work has taken us across multiple continents and earned recognition in the entertainment and fashion industries, with features in television shows, music videos, and top publications.

THE FOUNDER
I'm Bisi Essien, a licensed cosmetologist, certified makeup and permanent makeup artist, lash extensions technician, and beauty educator behind Crystal-Eyez Makeup & Beauty Lounge.
After earning my Master’s in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I spent nearly a decade practicing architecture in Chicago before following my passion into the beauty industry, where creativity and empowering others became my calling.
I've had the privilege of working with celebrities including Vivica A. Fox, Kelly Price, K. Michelle, and more, with my work taking me across multiple continents. I've also been blessed to train and empower a vast number of Chicago's beauty professionals with the knowledge and skills to establish their own thriving businesses, so they too can make positive impacts in our community.
