Ombre Powder Brows / Microshading

Microshading is a semi-permanent method of shading the brows, using fine needles to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin to perfect the brow shape, filling in sparse areas, and creating a gradient effect, popularly known as Ombre Powder Brows. The results of this procedure lasts an average of 12-18 months, and up to 3 or more years with annual touch ups. Many factors may contribute to the longevity of your microshaded brows including your skin type, lifestyle, and your pre/post care. Microshading is especially better suited and longer lasting for oily and combination skin, as well as for sensitive skin in comparison to the "Microblading" method.

  • A patch test will be performed, unless waived by client. However, note that a negative patch test result does not guarantee that you will not develop an allergic reaction after the full procedure. Although extremely rare, there might be an immediate or delayed allergic reaction to pigment.

  • Anesthesia will be applied to numb your brow area prior to beginning the procedure. The numbness will allow for little to no pain during the procedure however sensitivity or discomfort may still be felt. Skin may be red and/or swollen after the procedure.

  • We will take pictures before and after the procedure, which may be used on our web/print platforms for promotional purposes.

  • The entire process may take upwards of 3 hours, including consultation, numbing time, procedure time, recovery time, photo time.

  • The color intensity will be significantly darker and sharper immediately and a few days after the initial procedure, but the color will reduce by 30 -50% by the end of the healing process.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT:

The healing process takes about 6 - 8 weeks, during which your brows go through different phases that require a bit of patience.

  • Brows may initially appear significantly dark and bolder than you want them. They may be swollen and red. They are sensitive and prone to irritation. Don't touch them.

  • Scabbing & Flaking is the hardest part of the healing process. It is not pretty and may be itchy. This process take a couple of days.

  • As the scabs flake off, the pigment may look lighter like it's faded away. It's part of the recovery process as your skin forms new layer over the pigment.

  • The color starts to return, but may look patchy and uneven.

  • Mandatory touch-up at 6 - 8 weeks.

  • Full recovery / final results of beautiful ombre powder brows.
