She knew she wanted Crystal-Eyez to do the honors of painting her flawless for her special day and went right ahead to secure her wedding date, more than a year in advance. That was the first good sign...trust! She had been following us on Instagram for a while, waiting for the perfect opporunity. Throughout the months leading up to her wedding, Lauren's head count for our services was steadily on the rise and we ended up with 11 ladies getting glammed up on her wedding day. They were all a pleasure to work with. Some of the beautiful ladies are featured in the photo below.
Lauren was kind enough to share some of her love and wedding story with us...Enjoy!
How did you meet your husband?
I was at a Black Greek Fraternity/Sorority stepshow minding my own business when I noticed this 6'10 Omega man standing in the back of the auditorium. I made my way to the back to introduce myself and I was actually taken back by how much of a jerk he was to me initially. After our initial introduction we ran into each other at other Greek parties and I would always notice him looking for me in the crowd. (He was always the tallest in the room so he could spot me anywhere). I always say he was a stalker because he found me on all the social media sites and even found out my number without me giving it to him. Eventually we started talking as friends and our friendship developed into what it is today!
Tell us a little bit about how he proposed?
It was Chrismas Day and the last month my husband would be with me before he had to move to Texas for a new job that he was starting in January. My husband and I had drove to my parents' house in Champaign, IL to celebrate. Growing up in my household, the younger siblings open their presents first and then me. Well it had finally gotten to my turn to open presents. I began to open my present from Randall and noticed it was heavy and sliding around in the box. I opened it up and saw it was a book. Immediately without reading the title my heart sank in disappointment because I was used to getting extravagant gifts from him. So I finally looked at the title of the book and saw that it was a wedding planner book. At this point I was totally clueless as to why he got me a wedding planner book. I said to him "Why did you give me this book? What am I supposed to do with this?" He said "I wanted to give you a couple of books to read while I'm gone in Texas". I thanked him and opened the book and began skimming through the pages. While I was looking through the pages, he got on one knee next to me. I turned to him and saw him pull out a beautiful ring. He said, "Of course I had to get you something to go along with that wedding planner book." I was overwhelmed with emotion and don't really remember anything else he said after that. I just remember I said Yes!
What made you choose Crystal-Eyez for your wedding makeup?
I was looking for a make-up artist that knew how to make a "timeless" look. I wanted an artist that could bring out the natural beauty in my face for my special day. I had followed Crystal-Eyez's Instagram page and saw all the beautiful brown faces she had made up and I was really intrigued. Other make-up artists I looked at made their brides look too "made up," I liked how Crystal-Eyez enhanced! When I had my trial make up run, Bisi was so professional, flexible and adaptable. I showed her how I wanted to incorporate certain colors and she made it happen. I was truly over joyed at how my wedding day make-up looked. I couldn't have asked for a better make-up artist.
How will you describe your wedding makeup look?
My dream look was modern and classy. I had an Audrey Hepburn feel because I used elements from the breakfast at Tiffany's theme. I wanted timeless to be an adjective that described my wedding day. My wedding make-up look was modern and classy. I like how Bisi used natural colors to bring out my face and added splashes of color to reflect my wedding theme.

Lauren also left us a review on WeddingWire:
Crystal-Eyez Make-up was AMAZING!!! I specifically asked for Bisi to do my wedding make-up and my bridal party's make-up. I was following her on social media and I liked what I had been seeing. She did a phenomenal job! My bridal party and myself looks flawless on my day. She was very professional, flexible, friendly and reasonable with her prices. I first did a trial run with her and I shared with her my ideas of how I wanted my "look" and she made it happen effortlessly. I kept adding people to the list of faces that needed to be done and she had no problem accommodating everyone. She made my day absolutely perfect! You will not be disappointed with Crystal-Eyez Make-up.
